Subject: The King of Cruse Engraving
Comment: I bought a PalmControl Classic from Steve and it has become one of the main tools that I use in engraving. The micro second to micro second adjustment the tool automatically makes during a cut is amazing. This allows me to cruse through engraving in one third less the time than it takes with other systems. When you buy a tool from Lindsay Engraving, you deal directly with Steve the inventor of the system. The palm is the Cadillac of cruse engraving tools.

Subject: Very Satisfied Airgraver User
Comment: I engraver jewelry and hollowware full time and use the Lindsay airgraver. The first thing to understand is that Steve Lindsay designs and makes these tools himself. You deal with a Steve Lindsay and not a salesman. If you have a question you talk to Steve. Anytime I've ever needed anything I've never had a problem getting in touch with him and getting a reasonable answer in a reasonable amount of time. The airgraver is needs no electricity to work. The only connection is the hose that runs from an air compressor into the airgraver gauges. There is no compressor control box on the bench; those functions are controlled by the gauges on the wall or a rotating collar on the shaft of the hand piece. Speed is controlled by a foot pedal; force of cut is controlled by the wall gauge and the legnth of stroke by the rotating collar. The force of the cut goes from extremely delicate to brute force depending on the conbinations used. And with these options I can cut extremely fine lines for shading or continuous long lines with wide liners for cutting large hollowware pieces in one cut. I had a very short learning curve when I started using the airgraver. The tool has a much more natural feel than other power gravers I've tried. Instead of using the airgraver as a secondary tool for heavy, deep cutting it rapidly became my only cutting tool. I removed all my gravers from their wooden handles and ground the tang in to fit into the handpiece and haven't regretted it one bit. Both my apprentices saw the level of their work improve rapidly after buying their own airgravers. After using the tool for over 6000 in two years its still working at the same high level as when I first received it. Our shop now has five Lindsays, including one of the smaller chasing airgravers. We use them for everything from ten dollar heavily rhodium plated charms to seventy thousand dollar hand made sterling trophies with equal success. I have also found that I spend a lot less time sharpening gravers and repairing items due to graver point breakage. I'm not sure whether its due to using a lot less hand pressure when cutting or just the way the tool works. It divides the cut into a large number of less severe impacts. Your mileage may vary on this but that has been my experience. I am very devoted to certain tools. I am a big fan of GRS products and the contribution they have made to my engraving. Our shop has five of the small blocks, four power hones, three of the universal sharpening holders and a couple of the acrobat stands, and I've even gone out to Emporia to attend one of their workshops. But for the engraving itself the Lindsay airgraver has, in my mind, absolutely no rival. Its just the best there is. And Steve is coming out with a new device that moves the function of the pedal into the handle. All he needs to figure out now is how to put a spell checker into the darn thing and all my problems will be solved.
