Hi everybody, I sell very small jewelry items. I would like to adhere
the jewelry item to my business card (and then place the jewelry and
card in a jewelry box) but I need to find an adhesive that does not
damage the card if it is removed. (I want people to keep my business
card)
What I’m thinking of is the kind of is the clear rubbery
(silicone?)adhesive used when banks send out a new ATM or credit
card. The adhesive they use allows you to remove the card and rub
off the adhesive from the paper and the card without damaging either
one.
Does anybody know what kind of adhesive that is or where you can get
it?

It’s called snot (I kid you not) and you can get it from a print
house.
I sometimes use a 3M product called Scotch clear Removable Mounting
Squares availabe at Staples. They might work for small quantities.
You might also try contacting a 3M tech rep; if its sticky, I’ll bet
3M makes it.
The real name of the glue you’re referring to is fugitive glue since
you can “chase” it off a surface by rolling it. Probably nicknamed
snot by printers!
It is a commercial printing house speciality and I’m not sure you
can get it except in large quantities. Unless a crafty crafts glue
manufacturer has identified a market and started to repackage the
stuff.
We used to use Rubber Cement when I was in the print/magazine
industry. Ask for that at your local printer supply house or probably
any office warehouse or school supply place should carry it. “Rubber
