And, on every two holes , use a lubrificant as BurLife
- paste , stick or liquid , or even beewax - to keep
the wire surface shine and clean and to make the
drawing easier . Especially when you work with harder
metals , a gold or even silver , but a low quality (
835 or 800 ) . Lubrificant keeps your drawing plate
life longer , too .
Hi Shaun, I think if you'll put a cover on that
crucible you'll solve some important problems: melting
faster with the same amount of fuel , avoid oxidation ,
the environment inside will be only the flame and heat
, keeping longer the temperature , wich will help you
to poure the liquid metal calm ,with no rush . And if
you will warm a little the ingot before pouring , it
will be perfect , mostly if you will "sneak" some drops
of oil ( ca be Castrol :-) ) in the ingot , just before
the metal pouring , you'll have a beautifull amorphus
ingot , no matter the metal you will melt . Take this
a friendly advice , no harsh .
