I live in East Anglia, in part of that area that is called "Constable Country", made famous by the artist John Constable. He immortalised much of the scenery in this area in his paintings. There has been a very strong movement to keep the area free of modern development. It has created an area of outstanding natural beauty which attracts a large number of visitors each year. I am a silversmith and jewellery. I have my own workshop which I built entirely from scratch (including the brickwork). At present I am developing a range of highly detailed silver miniatures which I am selling to high end retailers in the UK.
I hope to sell into Europe, the USA and Japan. Any agents out there, give me a call. I am expanding my product base to include a range of jewellery and restoration of antique silver for the antique trade. There is a good market for silver and jewellery in the UK. The economy is fairly buoyant again after a long slump which created little interest in buying silver or gold and silver jewellery. Now that the country's economy is buoyant people have money to spend on luxury goods. The price of raw silver is also fairly low, and has remained stable for some time, also creating stability for the manufacturers. I am particularly interested in using lost wax casting in my work. It lends itself very well to highly detailed pattern making. Much of the work I do uses lost wax casting. It is a method of casting which has remained unchanged for many years. Highly skilled operatives are still needed to create good quality castings. I manufacture quite complex patterns which put considerable demands on the casters ability. The results are usually excellent and of good quality.
I hope you like the two examples of my work that you see here. I am at present working on my own web page and will include a link as soon as the page is ready. If you want more information about the things I make, please feel free to email me. |
