Peacock - This piece just looks like a peacock feather to me after I finished it. The idea came from sketching several designs before starting. The stones are moonstone, covelite (the blue metallic stone) and tourminalated quartz. I usually cut my own stones but these just came together from some show buys. This is my first attempt at folding metal for a softer look as my pieces are usually pretty symmetrical. Some of my first usage of gold here also. The texture is mostly from rolling sterling against a red shop rag and some Dremel engraver lines. Covelite is pretty soft so had to be gentle in bezel setting it.The first hinge I've ever made here also. |

Nighteagle - This piece is a symbolic owl, representing clairvoyance, the ability to see into the unseen. Inspired while laying in the bath tub yet! Sterling silver ornamented with 14k gold, amethyst, covellite, and garnet. |
