What is the weight of cast precious metals (sterling silver, 18k
gold, 10k gold) per x volume? In other words, how do I determine the
amount of metal in a piece if I only know the volume of the object?

Use the volume, in cubic centimeters, and multiply it by the
specific gravity (density) of the metal. You can find that on any
number of charts in books discussing casting, since as it happens,
most casting wax has an SG or about 1 (same as water), meaning it’s
weight in grams is also it’s volume in cubic centimeters. So your
conversion from volume is the same as it would be if you had the
weight in grams, of a wax model to be cast.
