    Most likely the handpiece needs to be cleaned & oiled. There is a
    small shaft collar at the bottom where you insert the dop. Use a
    small allen wrench to loosen the set screws on the shaft collar.
    Remove the shaft collar and plastic washer, then pull the assembly
    out of the main body of the handpiece. Now clean the parts, oil with
    sewing machine oil and reassemble.
