The old lets rename the stone and see if it sells trick. I go around
in circles at rock shows all the time with people. Last year I was at
a dealer table that had a nice slab of Sow Belly Agate from Creede,
CO. I asked him how much the sow belly agate was. He corrected me and
said it was lavender lace agate in fact it was Dendritic lavender
lace agate. I asked where it was from. He said Creede, CO. Felling
argumentative I said, "Well then it's Sow Belly agate and where do
you get the Dendritic from?" He said, "See those tiny black specs?
Those could be dendrites when you cut into it." I said, "Well this is
a slab, if there were dendrites don't you think we would see them?"
He said, "Well it's $20 take it or leave it." I left it.

At one show I had a lady tell me my Cripple Creek Turquoise was not
from Cripple Creek. I told her that I had dealt directly with the
miner at the mine site and in fact had done some of the digging
myself. She said, "Well you must not have known where you were
because this is not Cripple Creek." The Cripple Creek turquoise
deposit is on Gem Hill overlooking the town of Cripple Creek. But
there's no reasoning with some people...
