I will try to make my point clearer this time. I am not arguing that
using photoshop is bad. In many fields it is appropriate. If you have
a physical store and using photoshopped pictures just to advertise it
    is fine too, and etc.

I you selling jewellery online, the picture that client sees is the
only representation of the item, even if the picture is not as good
as the actual item, still photoshopping image is inappropriate.

We should have more trust in customers. Everybody owns a camera, and
everybody knows that picture is just that, a picture. I was taught a
long time ago that in our business it is better to under-promise and
    over-deliver.

Consider where the business would be in a few years if every picture
would be scrutinized "does it really look that way, or it is some
kind of a digital trickery ?"

We have a historic precedent. Look what happened to the price of
rubies after fracture filling became common. Now, when I look at a
ruby I ask myself " is it fracture filled ?" and most of the time I
do
not want to take a time and examine it. I simply walk by. And there
    are many similar examples.

By making practice of digitally manipulating pictures acceptable, we
    are destroying the business.
