========[ Invite a Friend - http://www.ganoksin.com/invite.htm ]======== Money tree needed for proper photographic lighting? Hardly. I am so tired of hearing this mantra, it's making me crazy. I described IN DETAIL how to make a light box that runs rings around commercial boxes for a couple dollars in a photo CD I've been selling for a couple years. The LIGHTING portion of it is easily solved by buying a Dazor 3-tube Daylight Balanced fluorescent lamp and using it according to the instructions. I chose to use this lamp for my writing primarily because it is a very popular lamp used in many jewelry stores and diamond houses to color grade diamonds and colored stones. IOW, many folks who are serious about their business already have one. Can you use another type of light, one that's cheaper? Yes, but you can expect shortcomings. I know some folks say they are using a $3 light bulb from wherever....but their color balance is all over the place. Then there are those who think a "tent" with two or three lights is great. Well, if you enjoy multiple highlights from the multiple light sources, have at it, but it is NOT a good image. The Dazor produces the proper QUALITY, the proper QUANTITY, and the proper COLOR of light. So does electronic flash, but flash is a little harder to learn to use (5 minutes vs two minutes!). And I don't sell Dazors! There simply is NO excuse for the poorly lit, improperly exposed images I see so often. Folks, this is simple and it's like everything else in this craft, it takes a LITTLE money (investment) and a few hours of LEARNING, but you do have to make the investment. I guess I sound pretty frustrated, don't I?? Sorry for the rant.
