Hi Brian,

    Thanks for your brilliant advice. I'll try what you say. I am indeed
    shooting in raw format. Les Brown has also given me some valuable
    advice to do with the colour profile being Adobe RGB 1998 vs RGB so
    I've been into Lightroom preferences and changed that and am still
    in the middle of making sure that it retains my instructions and
    doesn't revert to Adobe RGB 1998 as a default. Then I'll be going
    back into Etsy and replacing my problematic pictures with my new
    saved ones with the correct colour profile and seeing if it works. 

    Thanks for the tip about keywords too. I'll definitely do that, as
    they are all jumbled up at the moment. Lightroom is a good piece of
    software. I prefer it to Photoshop for doing the "developing" work
    and you can work on multiple pictures at a time, making comparisons
    between them, rather than just one image. 

    I will be trying the grey card trick too, because I do have trouble
    remembering the real colours and I'm usually doing the computer
    stuff in the evening when the light has gone and my shooting setup is
    put away, so it's not really possible to get the real colours set up
    again to compare. 

    Thanks so much to everyone who has helped me with this. It's been
    extremely useful. I'm printing out the most informative and relevant
    responses so that I can have a play with my photos.
