Hello Orchidland,

My mentor, James Cook (who did some amazing channel inlay) would
stick a heavy wooden toothpick into the hole of a stone bead. Then he
would saw through the center of the bead, right down that hole and
through the toothpick. Voila. Quick cabs... perfectly matched to
stone beads if one wanted to create matching pendant or earrings.

I'm sure it took some practice, but as I say, his lapidary work
fitting stones for inlay was incredible.

    to share with the neighbors!!
