Hi Orchidians,

    I have my information all put together. It seems to be a nice
    turnout for those of you interested and I keep hearing from more
    people. Gerry has decided to offer 2 workshops. The first one on the
    basics of stone setting for 3 days and 2nd one on advanced setting
    skills for the 2 days following. 

    The cost of the course is dependent on the number of students in the
    workshop and He will need a 50% deposit for the course for it to be
    held. 

    He will have his Basic Graver Set with Notes for $55. available for
    purchase 

    Basic Stone Setting: 

    Mon, May 5 thru Wed., May 7 from 9am - 12 noon and 1pm to 4 pm
    Basic/Advanced knowledge of claw setting i.e. Engagement rings with
    Round Brilliant Cut stones Setting Princess-cut stones, using the
    Chevron, or "VEE" shaped claws. 

    Full-bezel setting, using only Faceted stones.. 

    Explaining the basic tools for you to buy in the future 

    Avanced Stone Setting: 

    thurs, May 8 & Friday May 9 from 9am to noon and 1pm to 4pm. A
    prerequesite of basic stone setting is necessary for this workshop. 

    Setting tapered and/or straight baguettes, in an End-Bezel
    configuration Channel settings

    It is possible to take the entire week of classes, but you have to
    let me know. 

    I think this workshop is a bargain. I know Gerry because I had him
    teach me privately and since I am a teacher, I am able to tell when
    someone else is also good. We are able to get this course because he
    is in LA for a week already and we have time to set this up. 

    The workshops will be held in my studio in Ventura, CA that is 60
    miles north of LAX and 30 miles south of Santa Barbara. There are
    hotels and motels around if you need a place to stay while you are
    taking the class. It might be possible to share a room with another
    student. Please let me know if you have those needs. I am 5 miles
    from the ocean and the sunsets are beautiful here. The temperature
    is cooler than LA.
