========[ Invite a Friend - http://www.ganoksin.com/invite.htm ]======== From: Michael <knottm AT earthlink.net> The best place to get bi-metal is Reactive Metals- http://www.reactivemetals.com. If you are looking for 18K bi-metal Hauser- Miller carries this- http://www.hauserandmiller.com. From: Victoria Lansford <victoria AT victorialansford.com> Hauser and Miller makes and sells it in a variety of karats and gauges. Unlike the copper+silver version, gold+silver bi-metal is also quite easy to make. You can fuse a 28 gauge sheet of nearly any alloy of gold to a 22 or 24 gauge fine or sterling silver base then roll it down to the desired final thickness. The trick is to use a larger sheet of silver than gold and concentrate the heat on the silver edges. The gold gets hot by conduction. For me this works best with an air/acetylene torch. Victoria From: Phillip Thomas and Carol Stall <cspt2 AT sbcglobal.net> Hace, Sure, I ran into this place the other night online, looking for mocume gane suppliers. http://www.reactivemetals.com/Pages/rmsbime.htm Perhaps this will help. Cheers, Carol From: "John Fetvedt" <fetvedt AT mindspring.com> Look at Reactive Metals www.reactivemetals.com. Cheers. John Fetvedt From: RMS Information <info AT reactivemetals.com> Shin, We have carried a 22K/sterling bi-Metal for many years. 22K Gold/Sterling Silver Bi-Metal A heavy (1/8 by weight, 1/12 by thickness) 22 karat gold is diffusion welded to a base of solid sterling silver. I tried to buy it in Rio Grande the other day, and they said they don't have it. Anybody knows about where I should get a bi-metal? Reactive Metals is my favorite supplier, you can find them here at Orchid and on the internet.
