    It would be very difficult to guide a wax blade through ebony. 

    Places like Ace Hardware or Home Depot sell small "hack saws" with
    blades about 6 " long and about 6 mm in depth. The brand is 'Great
    Neck'. They are inexpensive and handy for many jobs. 

Might be just the thing.
