Buy a ticket, or increase your chances, buy a few! http://www.ganoksin.com/events/raffle-08.htm Will you be one of the seven lucky winners to take home some amazing prizes? ..................................................... Pat Pruitt: Professional Goldsmith http://www.patpruitt.com Bracelet: Stainless Steel, Industrial diamonds - Value $2,500 When I was selected to jury the Couture Awards in New York organized by Suz Andreasen, I came across the work of Pat Pruitt. His style, craftstmanship, use of industrial materials and artistic excellence stood out among hundreds of applicants. It is no wonder that he won a prestigious award for his work at that show. During Rio Grande's CLASP, I had the pleasure to meet Pat Pruitt in person and became impressed by his enthusiasm and passion for this industry. When I asked Pat if he would be interested in donating one of his pieces for the Ganoksin Raffle, he resounded with a hearty cheer of YES! He will also be bringing a piece for this year's Orchid Dinner Door Prize. Thank you Pat for your support in the Ganoksin Raffle. ..................................................... Donald Friedlich: Professional Goldsmith http://web.mac.com/friedlich Hand fabricated brooch made of glass and 18K gold. Value $1,800 I first met Donald Friedlich at Boston's Crafts at the Castle as his booth when he first graduated from Rhode Island School of Design. Donald's work stood out for several reasons. One, his use of alternative materials such as slate, gold and glass and two, his highly skilled craftsmanship in creating pinbacks to connect his creations to the body are a symphony in the 3D arts. Donald has a long list of credentials in magazine publications, showings at major galleries and very prestigious craft shows such as Smithsonian and Philadelphia, SOFA. Don is a lecturer, teacher and a past SNAG President. I was pleased to run into Don again at CLASP and we had a pleasant and unexpected conversation which is difficult to do when we are all working hard at a booth. Don has been a long time supporter of Ganoksin and I was pleased to hear that when asked to donate one of his pieces of work that he responded enthusiastically. The person who wins this exceptional brooch of glass, which was created out of the art residency at Corning Glass, will be a very lucky winner indeed. Thank you Donald Friedlich for your many years of support of Ganoksin and its mission. ..................................................... Beth Rosengard: Professional Goldsmith http://www.bethrosengard.com Brooch: Tourmalines, 14k & 22k gold, fabricated & broom-cast Value $1,500 Beth is one of our most active Orchid participants, who has de-mystified everything from jewelry fabrication techniques, booth participation to photography. Her work, in a word, is stunning. Her use of colored stones combined with her unique broom casted gold, makes her work unique and truly one-of-a-kind. I had the pleasure of meeting Beth at CraftBoston, where we talked at dinner about our industry, its challenges and our combined passion for all things beautiful. When I asked Beth to donate one her pieces for the Ganoksin Raffle I was thrilled when she said, "for Ganoksin, gladly." Thank you Beth Rosengard for your contributions to the Orchid Community and for your beautiful jewelry creation for the Ganoksin Raffle. ..................................................... Chris Ploof: Professional Goldsmith http://www.chrisploof.com A custom Stainless Steel Damascus and 18K Gold Ring Value $2,500 Chris Ploof possesses a multitude of talents. He is an artist, business person, designer, teacher and visionary. His love of meteorites, Damascus and Mokume Gane gave him the starting point to create exceptionally beautiful wedding and commitment rings. Chris is a bundle of energy and information from working on a lathe, creating beautiful Mokume billets, casting/wax working, setting up your own studio and much more. He has been a sought out demonstrator for MJSA, CLASP and Rio Grande's Catalog in Motion. A passionate teacher and artisan, Chris' beautiful Stainless Steel Damascus and 18K Gold ring will be custom made for the winner of this incredible prize.
