I have used irt a few times to make smaller molds of abjects or
textures for use with PMC, rather than casting. It is quite easy to
use. When it first sets, it has a gelatinous texture and is quite
fragile, but as it cures, it shrinks and the surface becomes firm
but much less smooth. My main complaint about it is the final
surface-- not the smooth, polished one I began with, producing metal
    that needs smoothing and polishing.

The caveat here is that I was making reduced molds, not reduced
models, so that may make a difference, I suppose. I think it had a
tendency to curl if not turned occasdionally, but I don't remember
    for sure.

I'm not aware of a way to adjust the amount of shrinkage.
