Okay, I will jump in here.

    I draw my own wire both sterling, fine silver and gold, but mostly
    it is because I don't have the right guage I need at the moment and
    I do have a larger guage hanging around. I draw most of my own fine
    silver. I do this because I work with enamels and work with
    Plique-a-jour and need specific sizes of wire in fine silver. So, I
    ingot my scrap (the pieces that didn't when I did), roll it down
    with the wire rolling mill, then draw it to the thickness I need and
    sometimes flatten it on 2 sides with the reg. mill. 

    But, I did take some of your advice regarding already milled gold so
    that I didn't waste my time rolling it for projects as a cost
    effective measure. I deemed that a valuable message and thank you.
