    I don't work in metal clay so I can't speak to whether or not most
    break within a year. However, I think that the reason cuff bracelets
    break is that they did not fit properly. Most cuff bracelets, all
    kinds of metal, are made to an "average" size thus necessitating the
    wearer, who is not the "average" size, to pull them open, squeeze
    them shut, etc. Over time all this opening and closing stresses the
    metal and it begins to fracture. All my work is custom made and cuffs
    are made for a specific wrist size and shape. I have never had one
    come back due to breakage.
