Thank you for the clarification Hanuman. An open internet letter of
chastisement, illustrating an employee's dismissal, and deliberately
publicizing it...... a matter that should remain absolutely private,
is every bit as appalling on Yahoo, as it is on Orchid. Perhaps even
more so, as Yahoo has a larger subscriber base. Plus, it makes it
clearer to everyone, that Nanz's dismissal was made solely to
placate the Metal Clay advertisers, seeing as it was directed
specifically at what has been described (by I don't remember who) as,
"the PMC community". (although I don't personally know any metal clay
artists who call themselves anything like that, and before this
thread, I have never thought of people who primarily use metal clay
as having either one voice or one style.)

What an unfortunate way to conduct business...As for the
backlash....? If it is ok to fire someone, then publicize that
dismissal in an open, on-line forum, (shudder), it is certainly not
just ok, but an outright invitation for everyone and anyone to
comment on that choice and react. My reaction....? Despicable. I
have some disbelief at the apparent dismay shown at the open, on-line
letter being forwarded. This is the internet. What did you think
    would happen?

I love R.E. Rourke's latest points by the way. Researching and
writing an article on how PMC has changed over the years would have
been a great solution. Especially if it was written by Nanz. Seeing
that her opinion leaned away from PMC as a material equal in
properties to traditional metalsmithing. That would have been worth
reading. I still plan to take a class in the material so that I can
update myself. It is the way Nanz's posting was handled, not metal
clay that I have a problem with.

On another note, Did everyone know that "Lapidary Journal" recently
completed a name change to "Jewelry Artist Magazine"? I vaguely
remember Merle mentioning it to me when I saw her in Tucson at the
Orchid dinner. Interestingly enough, I just got a note in the mail
today from them. How timely. Since I now have space for a new
subscription, I plan to renew mine there. I do hate all of these
    confusingly similar names though. ;)

Lisa, (All of my electronics...computer...power cord, computer
battery....and my car's fuel injection went down at the same time.
Its a conspiracy I tell you!) Topanga, CA USA
