Hi Folks.....

I've done some chatting with a few metal clay folks off list....

I'll admit...the times I used it was when PMC brand was the new
thing.... I was not impressed..... My comments would have echoed Nanz
    Aalund's....

The stuff has evolved....I have no experience with the newer
clays..... And I've also got a bunch of the newer generation clay
waiting around for the right project...

It seems to me much of the controversy lies in the designation of
proeprly fired metal clay as "fine silver".....which it is, and yet,
it isn't.... It also occurs to me that Tim McCreight tweaked the
language just a tad, referring to those published items as "fine
silver", without any other descriptor... Please do not misunderstand
me....Tim McCreight is an impeccable resource for the world of
meatlsmithing.....My copy of "The Complete Metalsith" is tad worn...

Digging around in my Webster's Collegiate....mine is 1968, and yet
    still a valuable reference....

The root word for "sinter" is the Old High German word "sintar".....

Therefore....I propose properly fired metal clay be designated
    as.....

    "Sintar Silver"
    "Silver Sintar"
    "Sintar Fine Silver"
    "Fine Silver Sintar"
    "Sintar 999 Fine Silver"
    "999 Fine Silver Sintar"
    "Sintar Gold"
    "Sintar 22K Gold"
    "22K Sintar Gold"
    "Sintar 22K Fine Gold"
    "Fine 22K Sintar Gold"

I hereby invoke the poorman's copyright with this publication of
these terms....... This day of August 8, 2007.... And see below...

The label concept makes no direct refernce to clay, and is non-brand
    specific.....

I did a google on "sintar" and saw no reference, for this
    context.....

"Sintar" does appear to be a word that pops up in several Science
Fiction venues.... Nothing to do with sintering of precious
    metals...or sintering of any kind....

I also grant.... THE *FREE* RIGHT, to any and all, as of this
publication, who chose to use this (these) description(s), as long
as they apply it *PROPERLY*, to metal clay product... This day of
    August 8, 2007....

Regards....
