    In addition to Don Friedlich's thorough explanation (thank you Don),
    I would like to add the following: 

    The firewall between the SNAG board of directors and the editorial
    content of Metalsmith is ironclad. Unfortunately it's all too easy to
    throw out specious, unfounded statements made up out of whole cloth.
    There are no "cross ties" between SNAG and the PMC industry. While
    that may indeed be your "best guess," it has no basis in reality.
    Stick to the facts please, and not throw mud in their absence.

    Ironically we have been chastised for not giving this material a
    fair shake. Then when it's covered in Metalsmith, you falsely accuse
    us of being in the pocket of the PMC industry.
