    I would like to comment on the use of 'distilled' water from
    appliances. In my younger day I enjoyed making 'sour dough' bread
    like the early miners when I was following the footsteps of the
    '49ers'--(and others, of course.) The 'wild' yeast cultured from
    what was in air borne particles was the route one took to brew of a
    batch of yeast when no 'cultured yeast' was available--One had to
    experiment to get a yeast that made a good bread. 

    For what it's worth--and if you like roughing it out in the wilds,
    this is something to try.
