    You don't say whether you mean cabochons or faceted, but either way,
    among the most economical-- and fun-- places are Wild Acres or
    William Holland. I've actually only been to the former, where I took
    beginning faceting. Both places offer 1-week courses in beautiful
    summer-camp-for-adults type settings, with volunteer instructors so
    it is very cheap. I was at Wild Acres during hurricane Ivan...
