Hi Group,

While learning to alloy and roll my own gold, I've accidentally
mixed up some of the karats of rolled gold sheets(small
    quanities).How can I ID the karat ?I dont have a gold tester(yet).
Heat? color? I'm not quite experienced enough to visually see much
difference between 22k and 18k. Is there another sure way to tell?

Also, can some one offer tips for rolling my gold sheets thin as to
where the gauge is even all the way through with a very smooth
    surface?

Thanks for the help,
Nancy
