Great thread. I wasn't going to respond because so many did but
decided to add my .02 cents.

ALWAYS loved art and music and pursued throughout life in many
different mediums. Now, on to the career!

Two jobs throughout high school: Construction clean up at job sites
for home interiors and exteriors on weekends. Worked for General
Services Administration (GSA) from 5am-9am and after school during
off season from sports and during all school breaks full time.

Post High School: College nights whenever possible all throughout my
    career both business and art!

Worked full time for GSA while attending computer programming
school, paid for by Uncle Sam. Transferred the Federal Aviation
Administration in computers and worked in the Aircraft Certification
    group.

I Worked for Hyatt Hotels and United Airlines after having my
    daughter.

I Went to work in the computer software industry in sales and then
technical management, (full swing back to the computer geek stuff).
Since this was my first love (besides Art) I stayed in technical
    management until retirement.

In "retirement" I have committed my self full time to learning
metalsmithing and running an online consignment jewelry site.

ART THE FINAL FRONTIER!!!!!!! I'M FINALLY ABLE TO DO WHAT I LOVE
FOREVER! P.S. MY "BOSS" IS QUITE NICE TOO! =)

I love being a part of Orchid. I'm still too new to offer much
advice but I am soaking it up like a sponge!

Warm Regards,
Lynn Vernon
