Well first I'm not a Jeweler, my better half Michele is a lapidarist
and I mine the list for information for her.

Me Let's see Left High School Worked as a production cook Delivery
person for a year 2 years as a apprentice machinist Then moved into
the Lab at the same company for another year and spent my time
mixing up various Ceramic powders which were used to attach diamonds
to the steel blanks I had been machining (We made Diamond drills from
1 inch up to a few feet in diameter.....) Was also a Volunteer
Fireman and was injured during a rescue, off work for 2 years trained
to be a paramedic. Worked as a paramedic for 15 or so years with a 3
year break in the middle to work in a large industrial plant where
they manufactured Locomotives in the medical / Safety department
doing Accident investigations and prevention, when my skills were not
needed for major incidents (We had a plant nurse for the bumps and
scrapes) When the back started to go and I (Correctly as it turned
out) evaluated my chances of further promotion as nil (Stepped on
too many toes over the years) I switched over to Computers. Presently
I am in my 17th year with the same company where I design and
implement Load images for servers and workstations.

And I am slowly learning the art of cutting and polishing stone...
