Always loved making jewelry, did the high school stuff late 60's,
with the dangle earrings, then parents intruded. I grew up 2nd
generation American, my grandparents were from Hungary and vary
dominate in how and what their children did in regard to school,
classes and employment. Apparently mom didn't remember the resentment
she felt, thou had talked about in old family story time, but she
decided our classes for high school, college prep with electives, not
art and choir, but typing and shorthand. fun years, but as she was
secretary, that was what we had to have to get a good job.

worked sales part time in department store in high school, and
college and would quit to work full time when I was out of money.
Major Criminology minor education. not business. worked in credit
field, back at school, then at a credit union, as loan interviewer.
got married by then, and moved on to be corporate loan officer for B
of A, but was in major accident 2 blocks from my branch.

while they were fixing me up from that accident, was diagnosed with
Carcinoid cancer in the lungs. Since the auto accident vs truck I
started doing crafts, when I got to basic jewelry, found free form
wire wrap I was in love. when I found wire thins enough to crochet
with, everything was good. I still do wire wrap, we have stones from
those days and I promised Jon when he looked concerned about al
crochet, all the time, that I would do both.

jewelry has saved my brain, my life it seems, I take my stuff to the
hospital when I have to go in, and make and give my nurses gifts.
Give a nurse a present, you get back rubs. jon told me I should not
    abuse this power.

Oh, and mom apologized to me for being so single minded about our
being a secretary/office work. She said she had no idea I could have
found work anywhere, like in a dental lab working with the wire, (was
offered a job once when the Dr looked at my work) or found some other
    job
