    I started out as a small child watching my blacksmith grandfather
    heating and shaping horse shoes. Soon he let me wind the bellows to
    heat the coals. I was sold on the fire and heat and magic of metal.
    Painted as a teenager, then added clay sculpture at weekend lessons
    from a local artist. Married too early so started university when my
    daughter started first grade. Did a double degree in art education
    and sculpture. Started my masters working part time in bronze
    casting when I got my first teaching job. The job kept me in tools, a
    house over my head and a bit to travel on. Am still teaching but
    overseas in various countries and working my jewelry studio on
    weekends and holidays and some evenings. Some day I hope to stop
    teaching art to high school kids and then I will move to Mexico to
    pursue jewelry full time for my own pleasure.
