Well, my former jobs aren't nearly as extensive as others or as
interesting but here it goes: When I was 15, I was serious in
persuing a career in law enforcement until I shot my first firearm. I
realized that if I became a cop I might actually had to use it.
Knowing my temper, that might be a bad mix.

I had gone to gem and mineral shows since I was 11, and I still have
some of the rocks from those $1.00 grab bags. I had seen how so many
kids that graduated before me (high school) weren't doing much with
their lives and I didn't want that for myself. I also knew that if I
did something I loved, it wouldn't feel like work. So on a Saturday
night I told my mom what I wanted to do for a living; it's been a
    long road from there.

While I was in school at Paris (Texas), I was a cashier in retail
plus some jewelry retail on top of what I was learning in class.
After I graduated, I worked for a year at the bench while I was
pregnant with my son, then stayed home for a little over a year to
take care of him. I can tell anyone now, I was not meant to be a
housewife. I can't stand that much empty time at home. Since I took
so much time away from the bench it was hard getting a job to be back
at it but now I've been doing trade work for almost a year so I feel
    lucky.

I've enjoyed this post because it has reminded me of why I went for
it in the first place. Can we do this again right before the
holidays so we won't feel too much stress and wonder why we signed up
    for it? :P
