[Tidbits] A Lizard of Sorts

If you guessed Paloma Picasso last week… you guessed correctly. I
now have to decide now just how tough I want to make this. There are
some of you out there who are challenging me to challenge them.

Methinks they think I can’t stump them. Heh heh. Little do they
know.

I think I’ll think this out a tad and get back to you. In the
meantime…

I have a question.

A Lizard of Sorts.

The Question:

What happens when Satan has intercourse with a witch? Anybody?
Anybody? The answer… their progeny is a lizard. Does a day ever
pass, I ask you, when you don’t learn something new and valuable?

And now… good news for all you dieters out there. Oh… are you
ladies ever going to love me for this. In Languedoc belief has it
that if a lizard bites a woman’s breast… she will quickly lose
weight. Yeah. Right. I can just see the lines gathering at the
opening hour at your local pet shop. Got any lizards Mac… I’m
feeling a little hippy today. Or… honey… could you please get rid
of all the lettuce in the fridge. You see… I bought this lizard…

Which brings us all dear reader… by means of no mean segue… to
Tennessee Williams and Jean Schlumberger. Yes yes. A Lizard. A
Writer. A Jewelry Designer. There is indeed a connection.

Once upon a time there was a writer by the name of Tennessee
Williams who wrote a play about an ex-minister turned tour guide who
is accused of statutory rape of a sexy sixteen year old in his group.
Aside from being on Broadway… the play was also made into a film
starring Richard Burton and Ava Gardner among others. The name of the
play/film … The Night of the Iguana. I digress here for a
micro-second to let you all know than an Iguana is a type of lizard.

Once upon another time there was a most wondrous jewelry designer
named Jean Schlumberger. His creations often consisted of sea
creatures and heraldic beasts. His work was often closer in spirit to
the animal he brought into being than representational. There is much
to say about Jean Schlumberger and there is much to show. But Tidbits
is a short thing… and I dread the thought of boring. So…

Once upon yet another time a jewelry designer named Jean
Schlumberger made a diamond and gold and platinum Night of the Iguana
brooch based on a play by Tennessee Williams. The star of the
movie… Richard Burton gave the brooch to his wife Elizabeth Taylor.
Now… a bit of caution. Upon looking at this brooch… some of you
might say… hey… this ain’t no lizard and it sure as shootin’
ain’t no iguana. Bah, I say to you. Bushwah and camel-turk. If it
ain’t no iguana… then what is it you think it is… an fish?

For those of you who are new to this thing called Tidbits…may I
direct you to my home page at www.tyler-adam.com where you will
scroll down the left side menu till you get to the area that says
Current Tidbits… and then click on it in order to view our
designer’s Night of the Iguana brooch.

And there ya have it.
That’s it for this week folks.
Catch you all next week.

I have an iguana that lives in my jewelry room closet… this gal is
about 4ft long… my oldest iguana got to be 10 yr old and 8 ft… yes
that is FEET (she ran around the house, too big to cage at that
point - she did have a closet also to sleep in)… and I have been bit
many a time, shame… no weight loss here  PS, lizards love tofu !

Take care all,Tina
