    I use citric acid and have been very happy with the results. It may
    not, as others have stated, work as quickly as Sparex, but I feel
    safer using it. 

    I bought a crock pot from Walmart and use that to warm the pickle.
    The large pot also came with a smaller pot and I use that to heat
    LOS. 

    I buy my citric acid from craftlobby.com The price right now is
    $1.50/lb. Sometimes you can find it in the grocery with the canning
    supplies.
