========[ Invite a Friend - http://www.ganoksin.com/invite.htm ]======== I think most people in any industry struggle with this question. Im sure we all know someone who has a degree and works a crappy entry level job and we all know that guy/girl who dropped out of highschool and is filthy rich and vise versa. People tend to think "if i go to school i will get a better job" and once finished school they are quite disapointed when offers dont come flying at them or they didnt get the job they wanted. What people need to remember is, and this goes for any post secondary education wether you are a lawyer, doctor, mechanic or goldsmith, post secondary education only opens doors for you... you still have to walk through them. I realise many people are laughing right now thinking how can you compair a doctors to a goldsmith? Well the point is that it is impossible for a doctor to learn EVERYTHING in school, much of it has to be learned in the field. But lawyers and doctors are guarenteed a excellent wage when done school? No, not at all. Again it depends on what they do with thier education, they can work in non-profit clinics/law firms and make peanuts or not even pursue thier career at all. Education never hurts it always helps. If your applying for a job it can be the deciding factor between 2 canidates, or it can be that deciding factor with the bank when applying for a small business loan. It even helps ease your clients concerns by showing them how qualified you are. So in conclusion i am a big supporter of education, i in fact am currently working on my 3rd diploma and when finshed this one i will go to get my BFA. When it is all done and someone asks me what i did with my education i will respond "it opened all the doors i wanted, and i stormed through them all!"
