    I'm having trouble visualizing 5-10 microns other than that to
    recognize that I probably can't visualize it with the unaided eye.

    However, when cabbing chrysoprase, I usually find the need to
    exercise much more caution than with other chalcedonies as the
    subsurface damage can quickly become abundantly apparent to the
    unaided eye if worked with similar pressures. :-{

    I use diamond (Genie) and don't use anything coarser than the 220
    Galaxy (hard wheel) and that very carefully.

    Is my experience unique or is chrysoprase more sensitive?
