Tracy,

    I'm not a very experienced jeweler and have had many oopps. Perhaps
    you can use the solder to apply another element such as some
    contrasting metal,bezel set stone or cut shape in sterling? 

    Many things that I start are redesigned in the end by an oopps. Some
    have turned out much better than the original design. 

    I know that this doesn't answer your question but..2cents
