    Uh, pardon me, but could we stop referring to step children this
    way? It's offensive to step children. 

    As a step child myself, many times over, I get really tired of
    hearing the term used in such a negative way. 

    And it seems like the majority of families these days are "blended,"
    so we need a new term to replace this use of step child.
