    The primary reason Stuller requires accounts and references is to
    help maintain their status as true wholesalers to the jewelry trade
    business. They really don't want to have to deal with the folks who
    are just dabbling in jewelry making. 

    Perhaps a better way for you to go is to find an alternate source
    other than Stuller to purchase the settings you want. I would be
    willing to bet that someone would be willing to piggyback an order
    for you on one of their orders.
