    Susannah, Haha........Do you subscribe to Metalsmith? In an article
    called "Body Knowledge" (vol.26, number 2 summer 2006) you will find
    that it's not just the HipHop generation that is experimenting with
    body part jewelry. Heather White van Stolk's work is not to overlay
    diamonds on the body but to use casts of body parts to make jewelry. 

    The results are often surprising, although my sensibilities draw the
    line at 22k gold casts of body moles. I thought it curious that you
    used the word victimized, so I wonder how you will feel, if you are
    a Metalsmith subscriber, when you take the magazine out of your
    mailbox, get sucked in by the color on the cover, look, and look
    again at the flower petals that are actually casts of teeth. 

    It's more fun to laugh than spend life in a state of moral outrage
    n'est ce pas? It could be fun to collaborate with a dentist and
    raise the culture bar of the HipHop universe by making stellar
    grilles and a photo exhibition or magazine article in the process.
    What a fun piece of cultural anthropology to be a part of. (Just my
    take on it :-)
