It is certainly true that the cyanoacrilates will glue a crack in
your skin together, thus stabilizing it while healing. I first had an
experimental supply in 1961, it was then known as Eastman #310. A
lot of variations have been made, but all work similarly. Over the
years I've used it on many patients, on myself many times, my wife
once, my kids several times-and one rather rambunctious grandson 4
    times!

Use it in the following way: dry the crack or cut, touch in the
minimum amount of glue possible-perhaps by transfer with a tooth pick
or soldering pick, cover with a thin piece of polyethelene film or
Saran, then squeeze the edges together. The glue "sets" by
polymerization and cures in an instant under pressure. The plastic
film comes right off and you won't have glued your good right thumb
and index finger to your injured left index finger!

Now, here's the important message. If you have dry skin, frequent
cracking, itchy thickening and a gizillion other related symptoms
you probably have a dietary deficiency in OMEGA-3 oils. You can test
that easily and safely by taking two tablespoons full of flax seed
oil (from the health food store refrigerator) each day for 3 to 4
weeks. Other than possible stomach upset there seems to be no risk.
If it works keep taking it. If so it's better to take it in the
morning, it will make you feel full and you'll automatically eat a
little less of other things. If you take it at bedtime you'll
    probably get fat!!

My best to all,
Dr Mac
