========[ Invite a Friend - http://www.ganoksin.com/invite.htm ]======== From: Larrie Easterly <larrie AT larrie.com> Thompson Enamel has 6x6 sheets at http://www.thompsonenamel.com/products/tools/firing.htm Larrie From: fishbre396 AT aim.com You may want to check with your local "stamping" type shops, that's where I found these. They weren't huge, generally 2/3 inches or so. From: jesse Brennan <jkbrennan AT worldnet.att.net> In the US: http://www.ashevillemica.com/ (they may be in bankruptcy ???) then it is a worldwide search: http://www.roskill.com/reports/mica/contents good luck jesse From: "jennifer friedman" <jenenamel AT sbcglobal.net> try looking for mica at enameling supply companies www.enameling.com and Enamelwork supply company Coral Schaffer ewsco AT comcast.net they both have thin sheets of mica and thicker sheets too. Jennifer Friedman enamelist Ventura, CA From: "Ed Wales, Artist" <ed-art2 AT verizon.net> I found the following source of Mica, http://www.antiquestoves.com/gs/stoveparts/mica1.aspthat > it is used for antique wood / coal / fuel oil stoves and furnaces. This was just the first or so when I looked up "wood stove parts". These seem a gray tone, but as I recall when I used to sell alternative energy appliances that there were 3-4 colors at some wholesalers? Seems like one 'old timey' name for the mica was "isenglass"?? (sp,??), or "iessin glause" (sp,??), Good Luck, Ed From: Lisa Bialac-Jehle <byzantia AT earthlink.net> Mica sheets: http://woodworker.com :-) Lisa From: Tammy Kirks <tammykirks AT mac.com> I get my mica sheets from Thompson Enamel. You might try enamel suppliers. Tammy Kirks Red Bee Designs www.redbeedesigns.com From: "Mark Chapman" <whitewolf AT lolopeak.com> Around here (Montana) mica sheets are sold in wood stove stores as replacements for older style stoves. That might be a place to start.
