    We have seen that kind of discoloration when using brand new flasks.
    Almost looks like brass plating that has been soaked in acid. I
    think it has to do with the stainless. We haven't noticed a problem
    in the finished pieces. 

    ABI has a video that covers using a electro melt for oven soldering
    in conjunction with their tack welder. 

    I think I would start with easier solder and work up the temps till
    it works as higher temps cause more problems.
