[Jewelry making - Article 00797] - [Orchid] Foredom hammer handpiece warming up

    I purchased a used hammer handpiece, the 15, a while ago for a super
    price. I got a diamond tip for it and have been using it at the
    suggested lower speeds. After using it for 2 minutes the handle gets
    warm and it does not punch like it does before. It kind of skips a
    hammer punch. 

    It does not have a duplex spring. Does anyone know what might be
    wrong with this tool? I am assuming I might have to buy a new one,
    but I also thought maybe this is just how the piece works or can fix
    it? 

    Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
