Has anyone researched refining scrap palladium? Will it be
economically viable to refine the metal?

Back when pd was so expensive I found that some refiners didn't
assay or refine for palladium found in white gold alloys.

A related refining concern is that the price paid for platinum scrap
is usually discounted in addition to the cost of assaying for the
metal. Right now in my studio it's not a factor because platinum is
costly enough and used in volume that makes the assaying charge
almost irrelevant and the discount just annoying.

Those of us considering using Pd will need to adjust pricing if we
face the same charges and discounts for assaying and refining on a
metal that is priced at palladium's current price.
