    hi Joel, you asked about red gold as used in manufacture of jeweler.
    I too have seen ads like this. It just ain't so. You can make a very
    deep  pink or rose colored gold by alloying gold with nothing but
    copper. 14k can be an especially strong color. It won't be red. 14k
    pink is pretty rough to work with. If you want to take this further,
    let me know directly.
