[Jewelry making - Article 01250] - [Orchid] Setting Natural pink sapphire

Hello all-

    I have question for the stone experts out there - Will a natural pink
    sapphire change color if subjected to 14ky gold soldering
    temperatures?  I'm more worried about losing the color than
    deepening it. There's no way I can shield this stone from the heat
    without sawing off the setting and remaking part of the piece. Any
    thoughts would be appreciated.
