Fast. Virile. Aggressive during the rutting season. That's our king.
Symbolically pagan ... an attribute associated with its antlers. The
Stag is associated with solar and fertility imagery.

In Celtic lands he is emblematic of the hunter and of forest gods.
He is imbued with fierce masculine mastery. He is believed to have
been the royal beast of Tuatha de Danaan ... a race of gods or
demigods who ruled Ireland in the Golden Age ... the fifth group of
    inhabitants of Ireland.

I heard a great definition of insanity today ... nothing to do with
jewelry or diamonds or anything ... thought I'd pass it on as a
quick interval to today's Tidbits. Insanity: When you do the same
thing over and over again and expect different results each time.
Methinks there are more than a smattering of insane people out
    there.

In Welsh myth ... the stag appears as a supernatural messenger
leading hunters to the Otherworld. In Greek myth ... Actaeon the
hunter spies on a goddess as she bathes naked. The more things change
... the more they remain the same. As an act of revenge ... the
goddess turns Actaeon into a stag and he is subsequently torn to
pieces by his own hounds. The moral: Don't spy on naked goddesses
    while there are dogs around.

And then there's the image of a stag trampling a serpent underfoot.
It is the triumph in spirit of good over evil. Ah mes amis ... ze
stag ... she is many things. So then why a stag you may well ask. It
is because it is a shield emblem in Scythian art and embodies
special attributes ... such as the shaping of the body in sharply
    contrasting planes.

It is a sight to behold folks. Don't miss this one.

For those of you who are new to this thing called Tidbits...may I
direct you to my home page at www.tyler-adam.com where you will
scroll down the left side menu till you get to the area that says
Tidbits Graphics ... and then click on the link that says: Stag in
order to view this great beast.

And there ya have it.
That's it for this week folks.
Catch you all next week.
