Our humble shop is in a flea market where there is a LOT of dust and
keeping the counters looking nice is a challenge, so I've been
    following this thread with interest.

My husband and I were at Wal-Mart the other day and in our travels
through the store, I discovered a microfiber cloth mitt. It was less
than $2 US and it works GREAT. I sprayed a little glass cleaner on
the first counter top and started wiping. There was enough cleaner on
the cloth after that to do the other 3 counter tops AND the fronts.
The counters were sparkling!! By the end of the day, the mitt had
dried and I just shook out the dust/dirt.

BTW - going back to a previous thread about how to compete with the
big guys, the chains and Wal-Mart - even though our shop is in a flea
market, we carry quality gold, silver and gems. We don't have the
overhead, so we can compete with the big stores on prices, plus we
replace watch batteries (and as someone said, do a little education
at the same time) and we do repairs "while you wait" - it's our niche
and it works very well for us. So well, in fact, that we are probably
going to HAVE to go to brick-and-mortar by next spring. Customers are
coming back and sending their friends and family to us, too - word of
mouth advertising is worth more than any ad we could pay for!
