    okay people, here's my last hurrah on the subject: 

          to visualize what you think in your head is imagination -
          to reproduce what you see in your head is creativity - 
          to make others see what you have seen in your head is art.

    this was in response to some questions about "what is imagination"
    from some 'at-risk' kids i worked with a few years back. since the
    thread, or noose, started i have decided that the answer might be
    divided into groups of those who can't do it: crafters; those who
    can do it: artists. if you sell yourself short by thinking you are a
    crafter, then you are a crafter; go make three pine bread boxes and
    don't get varnish on your gingham apron.

    who knows that life itself is too short to sell oneself short so
    hearing the customers' repeated statements about ive's jewelry "that
    is art!" is enough.
