    Whew! You're a man who knows how to step on toes! 

    I call myself an artist. I've been called many things, no doubt, but
    never (at least to my face) pretentious. I call myself an artist
    because, like many others on this forum, I have a life-long *need*
    to make things and to, in the process, express ideas. I was born
    that way, no choice, though I have worked (continue to work) very
    hard to improve my ability to do what I do well. These days, I do
    that though jewelry. 

    If I take the pin-back off so it is (no longer wearable) sculture,
    then it magically becomes art? Oops, guess not, it's still
    decorative. It has to be ugly to be art? Well, that would take care
    of the "economically driven" part... 

    Kevin, I have a feeling it would be a lot of fun to sit across from
    you and have a "frank exchange of views". I'm more amused than
    annoyed, and please don't take this the wrong way, but, what a
    crock!
