There are now a few spaces left in...

    "Fold Forming with Charles Lewton-Brain"
    April 4-8, 2005 $895 + $25 kit

Fold Forming is a new collection of techniques that were pioneered
and developed by the instructor. The results are nothing less than
spectacular, with convoluted metal forms in interesting shapes,
volumes and surfaces. The system employs metal's plasticity and
ductility to rapidly make complex forms resembling chased,
constructed and soldered shapes from a sheet of metal in just 3-5
minutes! And the tools are simple too: fingers, hammers, mallets,
an anvil, a vise and rolling mill. Fold Forming has been recognized
as a completely new approach to metalworking by the Rolex Awards for
Enterprise Committee and the Head of the British Museum Conservation
Lab. Prerequisite: Fabrication 1 or experience.

Charles Lewton-Brain is a master goldsmith and gemologist who
trained and worked in Europe and North America. Designer, author,
educator, Charles lectures and publishes internationally. He is Head
of the Jewellery/Metals Program at the Alberta College of Art and
Design, writes, exhibits and works in his studio. He is a founding
partner in the world's largest free educational web site for
    jewelers, ganoksin.com
